Meet Mel'India

Mel’India Onley has been a Teacher of Students with Exceptionalities for the past 10 years. Mel’India is a woman of faith and believes when people are given the knowledge to succeed, they will make the world a better place. Working with the special education population for many years has shaped the way she views our future leaders. Mel’India has given to her community by being an educator that not only teaches but mentors the future leaders past the time she serves them in the classroom. Throughout the years she has witnessed future leaders struggle academically and emotionally. This in turn makes it more difficult for them to find purpose in the real world. She has taken many of the struggling learning under her wings to guide them towards ways they can use their skills and talents in the real world. She has mentored individuals by listening and helping problem solve through life situations. Her love and compassion for humankind is her drive for being a positive role-model to the future leaders. Witnessing students that have struggled educationally year after year pushed her to follow her heart and step out of her classroom to reach more of our future leaders through workshops that teach life skills needed to succeed after High School.
